All Certified Organic Ingredients: Quinoa, Oats, Buckwheat, Split Peas, Sesame Seeds, Amaranth, Whole Barley, Alfalfa Leaf, Red Pepper, Chili Pepper, Garlic, Cumin, Coriander. Excellent amino acid content with 18% protein, 8% fat.

This mix is excellent as is, but we encourage you to add fresh vegetables and sprouts to the mix as a good way to encourage the broadening of your birds' diet, with the introduction of new food items. It is easy to prepare, densely nutritious, and the birds really like it.

Preparation: Bring twice the amount of water as cook mix to boil. While heating we process carrots (or sweet potato, or squash or...) in an inexpensive food processor to a fine chop. At boil, add the cook mix followed by the chopped vegetables to the water. Reduce heat to simmer as soon as the mix is boiling. Stir to avoid the heavier ingredients all sinking to the bottom. As fluids reduce, add less dense vegetables (this is where we add not so finely chopped broccoli). You can add sprouts, fresh greens, chopped or otherwise when cooking is complete. Cooking is done when the mix is mildly sticking to the bottom of the kettle and the peas are tender. Our fussiest gourmet birds eat this passionately. Sometimes the cooks have been known to indulge.

I love the silence that accompanies the introduction of a favorite meal. All the chattering stops while my birds dive into their food dishes. It usually lasts for about 10 minutes then they start looking for toys to chew knowing they can come back to eat later.

Well they just had your Hearty EZ Cook meal for the first time. The silence was broken only by my Cape saying "yummy yummy". Their heads remained in their dishes for well over a half hour, some much longer. They love this food!!!!!! It is so great to find another source for food I can feel good about. Thank you!
